Visit with receptionist gets New York man 135 years in prison.

Non-business visit with Manhattan hotel receptionist lands New York man in prison for 135 years.

New York, NY; A New York man will be spending the rest of his life behind bars for disrupting the business environment after he was arrested by the FBI while visiting a front-desk receptionist at a hotel in southern Manhattan.

The man was arrested in late February while he was, according to witnesses, casually visiting the front-desk receptionist at the hotel whom he said he "hadn't seen in over a year" and whom he claimed used to work at a popular tavern in Brooklyn. According to audio and video surveillance copied by the FBI, the man was in the lobby for approximately 9 minutes, mostly hanging out with and socializing with the receptionist, until a platoon of FBI and Homeland Security officers, along with a NYPD SWAT team, stormed in, slamming the man to the floor and arresting him for disrupting the business environment.

At the Federal courthouse in Washington, DC, the man stated; "She used to work at my favorite tavern in Brooklyn. I haven't seen her in over a year. And she told me that I could go visit her." To which the judge reportedly replied; "It is a felony under Federal law in the United States of America to visit someone at their job unless it is at a bar, restaurant, or nightclub. We don't know what country you think you're from that lets people casually visit a receptionist who is clearly on the job, but in the United States of America, it absolutely does not fly. The truth is, you can not visit a person at work in this country unless it's at a bar, a restaurant, or a nightclub."
