American Assoc. of Law Libraries Announce Emerging Leader Award Recipients
Honorees hail from Florida, Texas, and Michigan.

From AALL: The American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) officially released the names of its three 2017 Emerging Leader Award winners today. This year’s AALL Emerging Leader Award recipients are:
- Ashley Krenelka Chase; associate director of the law library, coordinator of legal practice technology, and adjunct professor of law; Stetson University College of Law; Gulfport, Florida
- Joseph D. Lawson; deputy director; Harris County Law Library; Houston, Texas
- Leanna R. Simon; reference librarian; Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP; Detroit, Michigan
“Congratulations to Leanna R. Simon, Joseph D. Lawson, and Ashley Krenelka Chase for being named this year’s Emerging Leader Award winners,” AALL President Ronald E. Wheeler Jr. said. “All three recipients help AALL and its members stay ahead of the curve through their active participation; we look forward to seeing where the next phases of their careers take them.”
“I am extremely honored and humbled to be one of this year’s recipients of the AALL Emerging Leader Award,” Chase said. “I look forward to many years of service with my colleagues in librarianship and know that our libraries and institutions will be better because of the continued engagement and leadership of the library profession.”

The Emerging Leader Award winners will be recognized at the upcoming 110th AALL Annual Meeting & Conference, to be held in Austin, Texas, from July 15-18, 2017.
