DUI Wolf Pack Set For Pinellas County

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office and other agencies are teaming up this weekend to crack down on impaired drivers.

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — Motorists with big party plans in Pinellas County over the weekend will want to think twice before getting behind the wheel. The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office has announced a joint DUI Wolf Pack Operation.

Set to kick off at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 3, the enhanced patrol effort will focus on roads throughout the county. In addition to the sheriff’s office, the Florida Highway Patrol, Gulf Port, Kenneth City and St. Petersburg Police departments intend to take part. The operation is scheduled to conclude around 5 a.m. Saturday.

“The operation is part of the Pinellas County Sheriff's on-going commitment to reduce deaths, injuries, and property damage associated with traffic crashes related to impaired driving,” the sheriff’s office wrote in a Thursday email about the operations. “The goal of the Wolf Pack is to educate people and create public awareness about the dangers of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and any chemical or controlled substances.”
