Gulfport's Fourth of July Celebration to Feature Fishing Derby, Parade, Fireworks

Everything you need to know about the big celebration in Gulfport!

Everyone is invited to the annual City of Gulfport 4th of July Celebration! The day-long event kicks off Thursday, July 4 with fun and exciting activities along the waterfront district.

Take a look at the lineup!

  • Marina's Fishing Derby: 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. behind the Michael J. Yakes Recreation Complex.
  • 2nd Funky Fourth Car Show: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Shore Blvd. from 54th St. S. to Beach Blvd.
  • Family Sand Sculpture Contest: 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on Gulfport Beach.
  • Kidzone: 12 p.m. - 6 p.m. on Gulfport Beach
  • Live Music: 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. at the outdoor casino event stage provided by Fantasia Productions
  • Food, Fun, Art's & Crafts Vendors: 4 p.m. - 10 p.m. in the Downtown Waterfront District.
  • Parade on Beach Boulevard: 6 p.m.
  • Mayor & Councilmember's Welcome: 7 p.m. at the outdoor casino stage
  • Spectacular Fireworks Display: 9 p.m. off of Gulfport Beach.
Street closures will begin at 6 a.m. on Thursday.
  • Beach Boulevard will be closed from 31st Ave S. to Shore Blvd.
  • Shore Blvd. will be closed from 54th St. S. to 56th St. S. 
  • 54th St. S., south of Essex Avenue will be closed.
  • Beach Blvd. south of 28th Ave S. to 31st Ave S. will be closed during the parade from 5:45 p.m. until about 7 p.m.
Pier and dock closings:

Williams Pier will be closed beginning at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2 until Friday morning, July 5th at noon. Perimeter bouys will be placed 900 ft from the Williams Pier.

The Gulfport Casino Dock will be closed from 6 a.m. until after the fireworks show on July 4th. All boaters can dock at the Gulfport Marina for the day, for a fee. Any un-authorized boats parked at the casino dock will be towed to a safe location. 

Trolley Route: 

The Gulfport Trolley will be running from 4 - 11 p.m. to pick up passengers from parking areas including:
  • Recreation Center
  • Senior Center & Theater
  • Hoyt Field
  • Chase Park
  • Wood Ibis Park
