Gulfport Mayor Makes Appearance On Laura Shepherd Show
Gulfport Mayor Sam Henderson discussed upcoming happenings in the city.
GULFPORT, FL -- The Laura Shepherd Show on Sunday showed why it is becoming the leading platform for all things positive by hosting Gulfport Mayor Sam Henderson to talk about several happenings going on in both the business and recreational lives of the city’s residents.
Lev Pashikov from Smoothie Operator, a St. Petersburg food truck making inroads in the area, and Laura Oldanie from the Sustainable Urban Agriculture Coalition were also on hand, speaking in front the live audience.

Henderson spoke about city business and recreational matters, including the future of food trucks in Gulfport, upcoming summer activities and the Tangerine Blues Fest, scheduled for November in the recently renovated Trolley Market Square on 49th Street.
“Laura is a lively, welcoming and congenial host,” said Henderson. “She is dedicated to spreading positivity, and it shows through from her mandolin playing to her genuine interest in her guest’s stories.”

The mayor also shared poetry selections that highlighted his time as the town’s Poet Laureate and was joined onstage by his wife, Laura, for an a capella performance. The pair, along with additional band members, perform original blues songs and covers at festivals and shows when their schedules allow and are looking forward to performing more in the future.
“Having Sam join our show was great for us and for the community," said Shepherd. "Gulfport is blessed to have a mayor with a love of the arts and the environment."
