A 67-year-old pedestrian has died after being struck by a car Sunday in Gulfport.

GULFPORT, FL — A 67-year-old pedestrian has died after being struck by a car Sunday in Gulfport.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, on Dec. 22 at 6:52 p.m., 60-year-old Marilyn Shorter of St. Petersburg was driving her 2001 Lexus GS300 south on 49th Street South, approaching the intersection of 20th Avenue South.
Deputies say a 67-year-old woman was walking from east to west in the crosswalk on 49th Street South when she was struck by Shorter's car.

The pedestrian was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg where she was later pronounced dead.
Investigators do not believe speed or impairment were factors in the crash, however, weather and a poorly lit roadway may have contributed.

The pedestrian's name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
