Missing Gulfport Woman Found

She hadn't been heard from since Monday afternoon.

Update Feb. 23, 2:44 p.m.: The Gulfport Police Department reports that the Florida Highway Patrol located Metha Franco in Hillsborough County Tuesday afternoon.

GULFPORT, FL — The Gulfport Police Department is asking area residents to keep their eyes open for a missing elderly woman.

According to the agency, Metha Lydia Franco, 88, called her daughter around 1 p.m. Monday and left a voicemail. She told her daughter she was heading to a doctor’s appointment, but Metha forgot the appointment was scheduled for a different day.

Police say nurses at the Central Avenue South doctor’s office told them Metha did not come in, and she hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

Metha is believed to be driving a white 2008 Buick Lucerne with the Florida tag No. M107RT. She is described as standing about 5-foot-1 and weighs an estimated 100 pounds.

Anyone who sees Metha, is asked to call the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office at 727-893-1030.
