Voting Open For 2018 Gecko Ball Theme
The winning theme will also cover Gulfport's 2018 Art Gecko Show, Gecko Crawn and GeckoFest.

GULFPORT, FL – Have you ever seen a caped Gecko crusader? Or maybe a Gecko with bobby socks and a poodle skirt? Or even a gecko belting out showtunes?
One of these gecko-themed scenarios will come true as the public is invited to choose the theme for Gulfport’s 2018 Gecko Ball, along with the town’s other 2018 Gecko events: the Art Gecko Show, the Gecko Crawl and GeckoFest.
The following gecko-themed themes are up for consideration:

- Cirque du Gecko (a celebration of cirque and circus characters)
- Gecko Superheroes and Villains (a celebration of comic book and movie superheroes and villains)
- Geckos on Broadway (a celebration of classic Broadway productions, music and characters)
- Rock and Roll Geckos (a celebration of classic rock and roll from the 1950s to today)
- The Rocky Horror Gecko Show (a celebration of the iconic cult classic movie, its music and characters)
To vote for one of the five themes, visit www.facebook.com/GeckoBall and send a private message to the event organizers. Public Facebook posts will not count as votes, and only one vote per person will be counted. Votes can also be e-mailed to John Haugen at jhaugen@hudsonmkt.com.
Voting for the 2018 Gecko Ball theme will run through Tuesday, Oct. 31. The theme with most votes will be announced after the votes are counted. The 10th annual Gecko Ball is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 25.

Previous Gecko Ball themes include Geckos in Wonderland (2010), The Lizard of Oz (2011), Gecko Night Fever (2013) and Gecko Gras (2015).
All Gecko events are sponsored by the Gulfport Merchants Association. A portion of the proceeds from events is offered to non-profit charities each year.
