2017 NFL Pro Bowl Events: What To Know Before You Go

Orlando and Disney World are hosting the NFL's 2017 all-star game and festivities this week.

ORLANDO, FL – Before Super Bowl LI kicks off next week in Houston, the eyes of the NFL world are on Orlando this week for the league’s annual all-star game.

The 2017 NFL Pro Bowl and all the Pro Bowl Week events are taking place in Orlando and at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Kissimmee. The last time Central Florida played host to the Pro Bowl was 1978 when Walter Payton was named the MVP at old Tampa Stadium.

Here’s what area residents need to know before you go to the 2017 Pro Bowl Week events:

Location

Unless otherwise noted, all events take place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex, located at 700 S. Victory Way in Kissimmee.

Fan Mobile Pass

The Fan Mobile Pass is a free app that allows fans to participate in exclusive content at the 2017 NFL Pro Bowl Week events. By registering for the app and checking into events during Pro Bowl Week, fans will be entered for a chance to win tickets to the 2017 Pro Bowl.

Events listed below that require the Fan Mobile Pass to enter will be marked with (FMP).

NFL Pro Bowl Practices

AFC and NFC team practices are free and open to the public. However, priority access and opportunities for VIP upgrades are still available for Thursday’s sessions at http://1iota.com/Show/569/NFL-Pro-Bowl-2017.

AFC Team Practices

  • Thursday, Jan. 26: 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
  • Friday, Jan. 27: 11:20 a.m. to 12:20 p.m.
  • Saturday, Jan. 28: 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

NFC Team Practices

  • Thursday, Jan. 26: 11:20 a.m. to 12:20 p.m.
  • Friday, Jan. 27: 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
  • Saturday, Jan. 28: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

NFL Pro Bowl Experience

The NFL Pro Bowl Experience is a free, family-friendly festival celebrating the 2017 Prow Bowl. Activities include interactive games, a virtual reality experience, a photo opportunity with the Pro Bowl Trophy and more.

Hours of Operation

  • Thursday, Jan. 26, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Friday, Jan. 27: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, Jan. 28: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Attractions

  • 40-Yard Dash (FMP): Race against opponents and virtual NFL players on a giant 40-yard-long LED wall.
  • Airbrush Tattoos: Receive airbrush tattoos and face painting of your favorite NFL team.
  • Madden NFL 17 Experience (FMP): Check out Madden NFL 17 console game and the free-to-play Madden NFL Mobile game.
  • Family Tailgate Photo Op (FMP): Take pictures in front of an NFL tailgate setup.
  • Family Football Zone: Play catch in the field or take part in a variety of football and tailgate-themed games in an interactive area for kids and families.
  • Long Snap: Long snap footballs through a variety of obstacles.
  • Obstacle Course (FMP): Navigate through obstacle courses similar to NFL training.
  • Pro Bowl Trophy Photo Op (FMP) Take an up-close photo with the Pro Bowl Trophy.
  • Run-A-Route (FMP): Run through a see-and-react route before catching a pass.
  • Touchdown Celebration GIF Booth (FMP): Capture your best touchdown dance as a free digital GIF.
  • Virtual Football: A large virtual football celebrating Play Football.
  • Virtual Reality Experience (FMP): Experience NFL games using virtual reality technology.
  • Wilson X Demo Tour (FMP): Experience the world’s first connected football, earn a Wx rating and compare your scores with others.
  • NFL Shop Trail: Shop for NFL and Pro Bowl Gear.
  • Food Trucks: Everything from cheesesteaks, tacos, doughnuts and barbecue.

2017 Pro Bowl Skills Showdown

Tickets to the live taping of the 2017 Pro Bowl Skills Showdown are sold out. The show will air Thursday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. on ESPN.

Live entertainment will take place throughout the week at Disney Springs, located at 1486 Buena Vista Drive in Orlando:

Mike & Mike Show, ESPN Radio

  • Thursday, Jan. 26, 6 to 10 a.m.
  • Friday, Jan. 27, 6 to 10 a.m.

NFL Radio

  • Thursday, Jan. 26, 3 to 4 p.m.
  • Friday, Jan. 27, 3 to 4 p.m.

2017 Pro Bowl Dance Party

  • Saturday, Jan. 28, 4 to 7 p.m.

The Madden Bowl (FMP)

Sixteen of the world’s top gamers will compete in the second event in the EA Major in the Madden NFL 17 Championship series. The interactive entertainment battle centers on the latest Madden game, Madden Ultimate Team: Salary Cap.

  • Thursday, Jan. 26, 3 to 10 p.m.
  • Friday, Jan. 27, 3 to 10 p.m.
  • Saturday, Jan. 28, 5 to 10 p.m.

NFL FLAG Championships

The NFL FLAG Championships will be held Jan. 27-29 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex. In all, 64 regional championship teams in five age groups will compete for the national title. The 13-14 year old boys championship game will be played at Camping World Stadium (the Citrus Bowl) on Pro Bowl Sunday, Jan. 29.

  • Friday, Jan. 27 through Sunday, Jan. 29: 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., ESPN Wide World of Sports
  • Sunday, Jan. 29: 6 p.m., Camping World Stadium, 1 Citrus Bowl Place, Orlando.

NFL Punt, Pass & Kick National Championship

The NFL Punt, Pass & Kick National Championships will take place Jan. 26-30. Boys and girls in five age groups will compete in punting, passing and place kicking.

North American Championships

The 2017 North American Championships features under-18 and under-19 divisions of U.S. and Canadian national football teams. The weeklong event includes practices and activities, ending in a pair of games at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex on Saturday, Jan. 28.

  • Under-18 game: 5:30 p.m.
  • Under-19 game: 8 p.m.

Pro Bowl 5K Run

With participants encouraged to wear their favorite jerseys, the 2017 Pro Bowl 5K celebrates the Pro Bowl with a course that winds through the Walt Disney World Resort on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 7 a.m. In addition to enjoying the theme park, participants can enjoy entertainment along the entire course in this family-friendly experience. Pro Bowl Magic Kingdom Parade

While the Super Bowl MVP is known to say, “I’m going to Disney World” right after he win the award, this year, many of the Pro Bowl participants will have already been to the theme park. The Pro Bowl Magic Kingdom Parade will take place on Friday, Jan. 27 from 2:30 to 3 p.m. and will feature Pro Bowl players, NFL cheerleaders, and various community groups along with Mickey Mouse and his pals. The parade is free for all Disney Magic Kingdom ticketholders.

The Women’s World Football Games

The Women’s World Football Games is a gathering of the top players and coaches from women’s tackle football around the world for the U.S. National Team Trials and the Careers in Football Forum.

  • Friday, Jan. 27 at 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, Jan. 28, noon and 3:30 p.m.
