Bartow Yellow Jackets get ready for the 2017 season

Better focus and numbers is key.

Bartow Yellow Jackets Youth Football & Cheer President Willie B. Rollins sees a lot of positives heading into game one of the 2017 season. This is Willy's first year as president. There are 166 children in the program in 2017 vs 100 in 2016. The league has teams at all five levels.

The teams looked good at the Jamboree. The kids are buying into the structure and system the coaches have put in place. Willy said there are more volunteers than ever all working for common goals. Teams practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Home games are played at Bartow 555. The Senior team has a solid roster. These are the players whose next step is high school.

The league used social media and flag scrimmage games in the community to make parents aware of the program. The community in general has been very supportive of the program.

The Polk County Titans are the opening day opponent at Bartow followed by Lake Alfred away on August 19. In summary the league would love to to win a Super, or two, while seeing the kids competing and having a great time as a win in themselves.
