Black History Month Interactive Banners In Downtown Winter Haven

WINTER HAVEN, FL — The city of Winter Haven has installed banners honoring national Black heroes in honor of the upcoming Black History month.

A GPS tour that gives details about the historic figures is provided along the downtown route where the Martin Luther King Jr. Parade takes place. This year's parade was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, but residents can still celebrate Black heroes with awareness and education offered on the banner tour.

Officials said as this annual banner program expands, it is anticipated to include more local Black heroes.
