POLK COUNTY, FL — Polk County Public Schools District celebrates local bus attendant, Shemika Davis, who gives a listening ear to kids.

Davis is a mother of seven, and before joining the PCPS family, she worked in nursing for the Department of Children and Families, according to the school district. She feels that working as a bus attendant provides her with a new to make a difference for children.

When students tell her about their day at school, she listens attentively to make them feel special. She enjoys celebrating exciting news with them when a good grade is made on a test, and she's also there for them when they've had stressful times.
