LAKELAND, FL — Baseball spring training returns soon to Lakeland with coronavirus safety precautions in place for fans.
The 85th season for Detroit Tigers' spring training starts Feb. 26 when the Tigers play against Southeastern University in an exhibition game Joker Marchant Stadium.
Party areas like the Pepsi Porch and the Berm will be reduced to 50 percent capacity, and suites will be at 75 percent capacity, according to officials. Masks will be mandatory for all visitors. No pre-game activities will be allowed before the first pitch is thrown at each game because of the Major League Baseball rules of separation. Fan interaction with players before the game is also prohibited.
