WB Lanes Of I-4 Reopen In Polk County

Drivers experienced delays on both sides of Interstate-4 Thursday morning during the commute to work because of a crash blocking traffic.

POLK COUNTY, FL — Following an early morning crash investigation, emergency officials moved their vehicles out of the I-4 westbound lanes near the Polk County/Hillsborough County line just before 9 a.m. Thursday.

Traffic got back to normal speed late morning.

Drivers can expect big delays both westbound and eastbound on Interstate-4 due to a crash blocking two lanes on I-4 westbound at the Polk/Hillsborough County line.

Westbound delays begin in Polk just after Kathleen Road, according to the FL511 map.

Rubberneckers are causing tie-ups on the eastbound side, Total Traffic Network told Patch. Traffic cameras show that EMS and Fire Rescue along with Florida Highway Patrol is at the crash location.
