A Polk County man accused of fleeing to Mexico in 2007 to avoid trial for manslaughter was arrested in Mexico Monday and sent to the U.S.

POLK COUNTY, FL — A Frostproof driver who fled the country following a 2007 Polk County crash that killed two people was arrested June 21 in Mexico City, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The fatal wreck occurred June 30, 2007, at 5:35 p.m. on U.S. Highway 27 just north of County Road near Avon Park, authorities said. Danny McCown and Patricia McCown were killed in the crash.
Brian Dale Andrews, who was 29 years old at the time, had a blood alcohol level of 0.315 when the crash happened, according to troopers. That is nearly four times the legal alcohol limit.
