Fuel Spill Near Lakeland High School Causes Road Closure

Drivers on U.S. Highway 98 near Hollingsworth Road experienced delays Wednesday morning due to a fuel spill near the school, said police.

LAKELAND, FL — A fuel spill in Lakeland caused multiple lane closure on U.S. Highway 98 near Hollingsworth Road on Wednesday morning, said the Lakeland Fire Department.

Authorities said a diesel fuel spill occurred in front of Lakeland High School before 8 a.m.

There were no injuries or danger to the school caused from the spill, said the Lakeland Fire Department, but drivers did experience traffic delays throughout the morning.

The Lakeland Fire Department did not release what caused the fuel spill.
