Lakeland Food Manufacturing Company Triples Growth/Employees
Lakeland Food Manufacturing Company, Compass Blending, Triples Growth/Employees In Less Than 1 Year.
Lakeland, Fla., January 2, 2019 — Compass Blending LLC, a custom dry food blending and manufacturing company, closed 2018 strong, having hired 34 employees since its founding in early 2018. In addition, the company also plans to relocate to a larger facility in Lakeland in early 2019, one that will allow it to triple production capacity.
“We are very excited at the momentum we’ve gained in such a short amount of time,” said CEO Angie Fontes. “We have a clear direction on where we are heading, and we have a growing team in place to help us get there. This year is already shaping up to be a great one!” she added.
Compass Blending is only one of three companies that Fontes founded and leads as CEO. The others are Copack Solutions, a brokerage firm for food production, and YUM Distribution, LLC, a marketing and food distribution company for retail and food service brands. The latter two companies are based in Sanford, Fla.

Fontes is experiencing exponential success after just nine months of launching all three businesses, departing her role as VP of Operations at another Tampa-based dry food manufacturer which closed its doors in early 2018.
Compass Blending grew from only eight employees earlier in 2018 to 34 employees now. In 2019, Fontes is forecasting more growth that will continue to provide even more jobs in the Lakeland area as well as the other businesses in Sanford.
