A Lakeland man got a whopping 29th birthday present on Tuesday when he cashed in his $1 million winning Florida Lottery ticket.

LAKELAND, FL — A Lakeland man got a whopping 29th birthday present on Tuesday when he cashed in his $1 million winning Florida Lottery ticket.
Wadsonley Lubin of Lakeland opted to receive a one-time, lump-sum payment of $710,000 from the $20 Gold Ruch Classic Scratch-Off game, according to Lizeth George of the Florida Lottery.

"Lubin purchased his winning ticket from Broadway Food Mart located at 1000 North Combee Road in Lakeland," George said. "The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning scratch-off ticket."

The $20 Gold Rush Classic game launched in October 2018 and gives players the opportunity to win up to $5 million. The overall odds of winning something are one-in-2.99.
Scratch-offs generated more than $871 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund during the 2017-18 fiscal year and account for 69 percent of Florida Lottery ticket sales.
