Leesburg High School Girls Weightlifting Coach Josh Boyer was very proud of the efforts of his team for the 2017-2018 season. Of the 45 students that started the season 9 weightlifters are headed to 2018 State at Panama City.
Coach Boyer has been the girls weightlifting coach for 1o yrs and has seen the program grow from a first year roster of just 12 or so weightlifters. LHS has won six district titles, three runner-up tittles as well as the 2018 State Regional.
Coach Boyer is a 2002 graduate of Monmouth College in Monmouth Illinois. He majored in Physical Education and has been very active in the area of weightlifting. The Weightlifting season runs from October to February and the girls are involved in club weightlifting during the high school off season.
