Mulberry Woman Killed In Crash With Road Ranger: Authorities

A driver lost control of her car when it took the SR-570 exit Saturday morning, and crashed into a Road Ranger that was parked on the side.

POLK COUNTY, FL — A 35-year-old woman was killed Saturday morning when her car ran off a Polk County road, and crashed into a parked Road Ranger, Florida Highway Patrol said.

The woman's car traveled eastbound in the outside exit lane of State Road-570 at South Florida Avenue when at 8:55 a.m., she lost control of her car and smashed into the rear of the Road Ranger, operated by a 27-year-old Lakeland man, detectives said. The truck was stopped at the SR-570 exit as the employee removed debris from the road. Deputies said the emergency lights on top of the Road Ranger were on during this time.

The woman was pronounced dead at the crash location, troopers said.
