Polk Bus Driver Knows The Importance Of Kindness To Kids
A bus driver in Polk County loves to be the light for her students when they have bad days.

POLK COUNTY, FL — During the second week of Love the Bus Month, Polk County Public Schools is honoring a bus driver who always showed extra love to a student that could be quite challenging.
Bus driver Kamyra Farnell-Charles has worked in bus transportation for 13 years, according to PCPS. Charles told PCPS that the best part of her job is brightening the day for her students. The children call her Miss Myra.

She likes to be the light for students who might be dealing with difficult times. She had one student on her route for seven years who had behavior problems, but she still told him she loved him every day. He wouldn't respond.

After seven years, the student finally spoke to Charles. He said, "I made it. I'm going to graduate this year," PCPS reported.
The day after he spoke to her, he waited until everyone got off the bus and whispered, "Miss Myra, I love you, too."
