POLK COUNTY, FL — By day, they are hardworking professionals. But last Sunday night, four Polk County Public Schools alumni took to the field alongside pop star The Weeknd to dazzle crowds during the Super Bowl LV halftime show.

The Polk County Starboys who donned red jackets and white facial bandages — a dig at Hollywood's skin-deep celebrity culture — were Camerin Leiva, a college student; Kadesh Lewis, a carpenter; Zac Marius, an HR professional; and Devante Edwards, a recent graduate, Polk County Public Schools said in a news release.

And one could say the dancers Earned It.

All four participants said they stumbled across the gig and chose to apply. They then auditioned and began to rehearse, the school said. The dancers were then required to keep news of their impending performance quiet until the big day came.

“When I finally could tell my mom and sisters, they thought I was joking,” Marius told his former school. “It was a lot of work preparing for it … but the fact that everyone else was so excited about it, that excites me.”

Although their moment in the Blinding Lights has come to an end, Levia, a 20-year-old criminology student at Florida State University, said he can still Feel It Coming. (It, of course, is the reality that he performed for nearly 100 million viewers.)

“Reality is just now setting in,” Levia, a said, according to the release. “Going through the experience, you feel like a rock star. Looking at the pictures and video now, I just have to smile. I’m so proud to have been part of that It’s just so cool being able to spot myself and say, ‘There I am!’ I was right there.”
