Polk County Schools Close Thursday Due to Tropical Storm Eta

POLK COUNTY, FL — Students enrolled in Polk County Public Schools will not report to class on Thursday due to Tropical Storm Eta, school officials said.

Polk County Public Schools were already closed on Wednesday in observance of Veterans Day.

Schools are expected to reopen on Friday, Polk County Public School said on its website.

All after-school activities are also canceled for Thursday.

This closure does not apply to charter and private schools. If you attend a charter or private school, please contact your school for information on their storm preparations.
