Polk Sheriff: Got Extra Hurricane Supplies? Donate Them
Leftover Hurricane Irma supplies can be donated to Volunteer Polk for others in need throughout Polk County.

LAKELAND, FL – Did you overdo your preparation for Hurricane Irma? Do you have extra cans of tuna fish or bottles of water that you probably won’t use? Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd wants area residents to donate their unused supplies for others in need.
“Don’t throw them out or try to take them back to the stores – donate!” Judd said on the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page Monday afternoon.
The Board of County Commissioners will set up a volunteer reception disaster center, perhaps sometime Tuesday, Judd said. The disaster center will be run through Volunteer Polk.
