Red, White & Kaboom Fireworks Planned For Independence Day
Live music, food trucks and fireworks display is scheduled for July's Red, White & Kaboom In Lakeland. The 60 West Band will play music.

LAKELAND, FL — Lakeland's annual Red, White & Kaboom Independence Day returns this summer with live music, fireworks and food trucks.
Live music will be performed by the 60 West Band prior to the fireworks launch at 9 p.m. The band is based out of Tampa, and they play cover songs from the Beatles to today's pop music. A variety of food trucks will be at the Lake Mirror location along the Frances Langford Promenade also.
Volunteers will be available to collect canned food items that will go to Volunteers in Service to the Elderly, a community-based non-profit organization serving Lakeland, Bartow, Mulberry and Ft. Meade that helps seniors live independently in their own homes.

The event's sponsor, Tom Mims, president of T. Mims Corporation said they are very excited to sponsor Red, White & Kaboom again this year. He knows the community is looking forward to an awesome event. "It is is an excellent opportunity for our community to come together in celebration of our great country wi live music and fireworks," he said. "We ask all those attending to please bring a canned food item that will help those in need. All non-perishable items benefit Volunteers in Service to the Elderly. We want everyone to have fun and help support a great cause like VISTE."
The event is scheduled, Saturday, July 3, 6 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. Those attending can bring their own blankets. Items not allowed to bring: glass bottles, pop-up tents or large beach umbrellas.
