Tournament hopes to help strikeout childhood leukemia

Samson Corbeil, the son of Polk State College's head baseball coach Al Corbeil, continues his fight against cancer

A baseball tournament this weekend hopes to do more than showcase young talent, it hopes to help strikeout childhood leukemia as well.

Named after Samson Corbeil, the son of Polk State College’s head baseball coach Al Corbeil, proceeds from the tournament will help not only to offset the costs of treatment but also to contribute toward research efforts to find a cure.

In his eighth season with Polk State College, more than 70 of Corbeil’s players have signed scholarships to play at four-year schools. Additionally, 16 former players have been selected in the MLB draft.
