POLK COUNTY, FL — Polk County students will be allowed to attend a school outside their school zone in the fall through its open enrollment program, Polk County Public Schools said.

Open enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year is starting Monday, and the deadline registration is April 30. During registration, families can apply for placement in any school in the state that has not reached capacity and still has seats available, officials said.

Applications are accepted online through Parent Portal. Parents of students approved for transfers through the controlled open enrollment window will be notified by email once the registration period ends.
