What’s Open, Closed On New Year’s Day 2021 Lakeland

LAKELAND, FL — On New Year’s Day, residents in Lakeland will leave behind a year marked by unprecedented hardship and challenges. After spending much of the year navigating the once-in-a-lifetime coronavirus pandemic, many will no doubt welcome 2021 with open arms.

As we ring in the new year in our town, many local facilities and government offices will take the day off to recognize the start of the new year.

Here’s a look at what’s open and closed in Lakeland on New Year’s:

City Services: City Hall will be closed Friday.

Libraries: All libraries will be closed Friday.

Post Office: Closed Friday.

Solid Waste Management: Friday customers will be collected Sat., Jan. 2

Community: All offices, recreation centers, libraries, and Gandy Pool are closed; all parks and Cleveland Heights Golf Course will be open regular hours of operation.

However, if you’re hoping to step out for some socially distanced shopping or dining, there are several stores and chain restaurants that will be open on New Year’s Day.
