What's Open, Closed For Labor Day 2020 In Polk County
As the unofficial end of summer approaches, here are the service changes to know for the Labor Day holiday.
LAKELAND, FL — Even though we have those "endless summers" here in Florida, Labor Day weekend is when we bid our farewells to the summer with a three-day weekend. There are closings to be aware of for the holiday.
On Monday, Sept. 7, Polk County government offices will be closed to observe Labor Day.

Polk County government offices: Polk County government offices are closed on Monday, Sept. 7.
Polk County Public Schools, (virtual included): Sept. 7 is an observed holiday.

Lakeland Square Mall: The mall is open on Labor Day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Cinemark Lakeland: Catch a movie on Labor Day because they are open. Check its website for movie times.
Libraries: All Polk County public libraries will be closed Monday, Sept. 7.
U.S. Post Office: U.S. Postal offices are closed on Labor Day.
Parks and Recreation: Most outdoor facilities operated by Polk County Parks & Recreation are open.
Trash and Recycling:
- Monday's trash will be collected on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
- Tuesday's trash will be collected on Wednesday, Sept. 9.
