LAND O' LAKES, FL — More than 500 shoes will be donated on Friday to Pasco County children who are in need of footwear, school officials said.

A philanthropist and professor at St. Petersburg College, Jacques Hakim, spearheaded the shoe donation project.

“This truly is a labor of love, and a great team effort to help the children of Pasco County,’’ said Hakim. “I am grateful for all the people who helped make this happen. I hope and pray that other business leaders in our community start engaging and become involved.”
