Big Storm Brewing Celebrates Bolts With Lightning Twenty Five

ODESSA, FL – Big Storm Brewing will raise a glass to the Tampa Bay Lightning’s silver anniversary with a new craft brew that will be available throughout the region later this month.

Lightning Twenty Five will make its debut on Friday, Sept. 15 at the Big Storm taprooms at 2330 Success Drive in Odessa and 12707 49th St. in Clearwater. Both taprooms open at 11 a.m.

A portion of the proceeds from the fist night’s sales from both locations will go toward Hurricane Irma relief efforts. The Lightning, along with the Florida Panthers, the NHL and the NHLPA, combined together to donate $2.7 million to the relief efforts earlier in the week.

Lightning Twenty Five not only celebrates the Bolts’ 25th anniversary, but also another significant No. 25 in Lightning history, Dave Andreychuk. Wearing No. 25 during his days with the Lightning, when he captained the Bolts to the Stanley Cup championship in 2004, Andreychuk will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in November.

Andreychuk, the current vice president of corporate and community affairs for the Lightning, will be at the Big Storm Brewing Taproom in Clearwater on Sept. 15 to get a behind-the-scenes look how Big Storm Brewing makes Lightning Twenty Five. The newly developed craft beer is a light lager featuring classic American cluster hops and German pilsner barley malt.

Lightning Twenty Five will be available on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at Amalie Arena for the first preseason game, as well as throughout Tampa Bay. Big Storm will donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of Lightning Twenty Five during the season to the Lightning Foundation, which provides outreach to the Tampa Bay area and surrounding communities.
