Bloomingdale Man Points Gun At Driver To Get Him To 'Chill Out'

A 60-year-old Bloomingdale man was arrested after sheriff's deputies said he pointed a handgun at a driver during a road rage incident.

ODESSA, FL — A 60-year-old Bloomingdale man was arrested after sheriff's deputies said he pointed a handgun at a driver during a road rage incident. He told police he just wanted the other driver to "chill out."

According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Addes Lopez of Springville Drive in Valrico was arrested Oct. 25 at 13498 State Road 55 near Gunn Highway. Deputies said Addes was driving a Toyota Rav4 south on Oak Grove Boulevard in Wesley Chapel when he suddenly slammed on his brakes, stopped in the middle of traffic and got out.

Deputies said he walked up to the car behind him, pulled a handgun from his waistband and pointed it at the driver and his son.

Addes was later pulled over on State Road 54 in Odessa.

He was charged with aggravated assault. Bond was set at $5,000.
