Brooksville Man, Lutz Motorcyclist Killed In Accidents On SR 54

PASCO COUNTY, FL — A 34-year-old Brooksville man and a 50-year-old Lutz man have died in separate accidents on State Road 54.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, on Saturday at 2:34 p.m. the Brooksville man was driving a pickup truck west on SR 54 approaching Old Millpond Drive.

A 67-year-old Trinity man was driving a pickup truck east on SR 54.

The Brooksville man crossed the median break and entered the path of the second pickup truck.

He was taken to the hospital where he later died. The Trinity man sustained serious injuries.

A short time later, around 4 p.m., a Lutz man was riding a motorcycle east on SR 54 just east of Hunting Bow Circle when he overtook a 56-year-old Land O' Lakes woman and attempted to pass her by entering the center lane. In the process, the motorcyclist collided with the rear of the SUV.

He also was taken to the hospital where he later died.
