PASCO COUNTY, FL – Outdated food, the presence of live roaches and food stored at the wrong temperature are some of the violations Pasco County restaurants were recently cited for by inspectors from the Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

A Land O’ Lakes favorite, Capital Tacos at 6765 Land O’ Lakes Blvd., was taken to task by health inspectors on Dec. 14 for storing oven cleaner near food, not properly air-drying equipment and utensils and storing food at incorrect temperatures. In all, Capital Tacos had eight violations.

Morty’s Pizza at 7534 Massachusetts Ave., New Port Richey, had 19 violations on Dec. 12. None were priority violations, however. They included an accumulation of grease on the floor fan, ice buildup in the freezer and no paper towels at the hand-wash sink.
