Cross Bar Ranch in Pasco's Sights?
Pasco County wants to buy back a swath of greenery it sold to Pinellas many years ago, according to a report.

Will Pinellas County consider selling back a swath of greenery that it purchased from Pasco County more than 30 years ago?
Pasco hopes so, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
The 12,400-acre property sits north of State Road 52 and east of U.S. 41 in Central Pasco and is known as Cross Bar Ranch. A small portion of the property produces drinking water for the region while the remainder is used by Pinellas for agriculture, according to the Times. Pasco County sold the property during the so-called water wars, and has reportedly set aside $40 million to do so.

Securing the property would mean saving it from potential development and provide an opportunity to create a trail system for county residents to enjoy, according to the Times.
Pinellas County Commissioners will discuss the issue at its Aug. 13 meeting.
