Flamestone Grill, Joey's NY Pizza Cited By Health Inspectors
Flies in kitchen, soiled microwave oven and improperly stored food are a few of the violations found at Pasco County restaurants.
PASCO COUNTY, FL — Flies in kitchen, soiled microwave oven and improperly stored food are some of the violations that Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation inspectors found recently at Pasco County restaurants.
Susie's Family Restaurant, 6476 Ridge Road, Port Richey, was cited for 13 violations on April 26, including interior of microwave soiled with encrusted food debris; coffee filters not stored in a protected manner to prevent contamination (placed in bag); wet wiping cloth not stored in sanitizing solution between uses; and raw ground beef stored over frozen peas and wraps (beef moved to lower shelf).
Joey's NY Pizza, 9830 Little Road, New Port Richey, was cited for 12 violations on April 26, including five flies in kitchen; open water bottle sitting on boxes of sauce in prep area; soda box stored on floor behind counter; raw chicken stored over portioned dressings in reach-in cooler (employee moved chicken to walk-in cooler); and raw vegetables not washed prior to preparation (employee cut mushrooms that are visibly soiled).

Flamestone American Grill, 10900 State Road 54 Ste 105, New Port Richey, was cited for nine violations on April 23, including two flies on cook line in kitchen; ice buildup in walk-in freezer; and handwash sink not accessible for employee use due to being blocked by garbage can (employee moved trash can).
In the last 30 days, 48 Pasco County restaurants did not pass the first inspection while 65 restaurants aced the first visit.

The inspectors made note of six Pasco County restaurants that passed inspections without any violations in the past month: Royal Ox Food & Catering South, 3939 Land O Lakes Blvd, Land O' Lakes; Gizzy's, 6207 Appomattox Dr, Holiday; Tacos Leon, 37007 Lock St, Dade City; Frankie Lanes, 5727 6 St, Zephyrhills; Riverside Seafood Market & Restaurant, 5347 Gall Blvd, Zephyrhills; and Whiskey Joe's, 7835 Bayview St, Port Richey.
