Flood Watch Issued for Pasco, Hillsborough (Expired)

Storms are anticipated to move into the area Thursday afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Pasco and Hillsborough counties as heavy rain and thunderstorms move into the area.

The advisory will remain in place until 6:30 p.m. Thursday. A flood watch has also been issued for those two counties and Pinellas through 8 p.m.

The latest advisory was issued before 4 p.m. as radar spotted strong storms in the area. So far, an estimated 1 to 2 inches of rain have fallen in the two counties on Thursday. That’s on top of the rain that has soaked the area over the past two weeks.

Forecasters advise that some of the areas likely to experience flooding include Tampa, Temple Terrace, Land O’ Lakes, Northdale, Carrollwood, Keystone and Riverview.

Motorists are urged to use caution on area roads as urban and small stream flooding is anticipated.
