Florida Driver’s License Services Going Offline For A Few Days
Floridians in need of driver's license or vehicle registration services will be out of luck for a few days.

TALLAHASSEE, FL — Floridians with plans to visit their local tax collector’s office on a Saturday for driver’s license or motor vehicle registration services will want to plan on going this weekend instead of next. The state has announced a planned outage of its database for an upgrade to a “cloud solution.”
According to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, the scheduled migration of information from the current database to the cloud-based system is set for the weekend of June 16-18. The agency says services will stop being available at 7 p.m. June 16. The new system is expected to be in place and ready to serve by 8 a.m. Monday, June 19.
The planned upgrade impacts most of the DHSMV services offered at tax collector’s offices across the state. The rundown of services that won’t be available includes driver license and ID card issuance and renewals, driver’s license testing, address updates, vehicle titling, vehicle registrations, vehicle information checks, vessel titling and registration and other services normally offered through the agency.

“Customers who need any of the services listed are urged to plan in advance for the database migration,” the department wrote in an email to media.
While the database change means no new licenses will be issued over the weekend of June 16-18, it doesn’t mean drivers who run afoul of traffic laws won’t face tickets.

“All law enforcement-related systems will remain operational throughout the weekend,” the state made sure to note.
