Frost Advisory Issued For Tampa Bay Area
The interior portions of several Tampa Bay area counties may experience temperatures in the mid- to upper-30s Tuesday morning.
LAND O’ LAKES, FL — The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for late Monday night and early Tuesday morning for the interior sections of several Tampa Bay area counties. Forecasters anticipate temperatures to fall rapidly after sunset with bottoming out in the mid- to upper-30s possible.
Areas included in the frost advisory include interior sections of Pasco, Hillsborough, Polk and Hernando counties. Folks to the north are also expected to endure a chilly night and chilly Tuesday morning. The advisory is set to expire at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31.
Forecasters say the unexpected cool temperatures are due to anticipated building of surface high pressure in the region. That coupled with low winds and clear skies “will support frost formation over interior sections” of the affected counties, weather service forecasters wrote in the advisory.
