LAND O’ LAKES, Fla. (May 8, 2014) – The butterfly garden at Connerton Court Assisted Living Facility was filled with fluttering butterflies on May 6, as the residents released them in memory of lost loved ones.
The butterfly release ceremony, hosted by Gulfside Hospice, is a way for the residents to take a moment to remember loved ones they have lost. Before the butterfly release, Jennifer Chianella, provider representative from Gulfside Hospice, read 18 names of residents that passed away in the last year.
The butterfly garden at Connerton Court, located at 21021 Betel Palm Lane in Land O’ Lakes, was first dedicated in September 2013 as a memory garden for those who have passed away. It is a place where residents can plant and grow flowers, or even just sit and remember their loved ones.
