I-75 Motorist Airlifted With 'Serious Injuries'
Injured was a 31-year-old Wimauma resident. A portion of I-75 North was closed until 7 a.m. Wednesday.

A vehicle crash on I-75 near the Hillsborough-Pasco border caused serious injuries to one motorist.
Justin Silver, 27, of Tampa, was traveling northbound around 5:40 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 13) when he attempted to change into the outside lane, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
Silver’s 2013 Cadillac CTS struck the left rear section of a 2006 Chevy Cavalier driven by 31-year-old Wimauma resident Alejandro Pineda, according to preliminary information.

As a result of the impact, the Cavalier exited the roadway and flipped multiple times. Authorities said Pineda had to be airlifted to St. Joseph’s Hospital with "serious injuries." Silver’s vehicle came to rest “on the outside shoulder without further damage,” according to Florida Highway Patrol.
I-75 North was shut down until about 7 a.m. following the incident, which remains under investigation.
