'Jungle Jack' Hanna Returning to Busch Gardens

The renowned animal expert will make appearances April 18-19.

Tampa Bay area animal lovers who want to get up close and personal with some of Busch Gardens critters are invited to join “Jungle Jack” Hanna for a walk on the wild side later this month.

The internationally known animal expert plans to make special appearances at the Tampa theme park April 18-19 for “Wild Days” weekend. The event features animal shows, autograph signings and special meet-and-greets with Hanna.

Hanna is expected to make appearances and share tales of his travels around the world during the regularly scheduled animal shows at Stanleyville Theater both days at 11 a.m. and 1 and 3 p.m. These shows are included with regular admission.

For those who want to meet Hanna in person, the park is offering a VIP experience on April 18 and 19 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Those who pay an extra $19.99 will get to meet Hanna and get up-close with some of his favorite animals. The exclusive VIP experience includes a private meet-and-greet, a photo, personalized autograph and reserved seating for the Stanleyville Theater show. Annual pass members get a discount on the price, too, the park announced in a media release.

For those who just can’t get enough of Hanna or the animals, the park is staging a “Jack Hanna Family Sleepover” April 18 from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. April 19.

“Guests will spend the night at Busch Gardens in one of the park’s secure on-site venues and enjoy a night of family fun, interactive activities and an animal adventure hosted by Jack Hanna,” the release said.

The $78 cost of admission includes dinner, breakfast and commemorative gifts. The event is designed for families with kids in grades three or higher. Registration is required.
