The high school will honor the 2017 Lady Gators with a ceremony at the football field.

LAND O’ LAKES, FL – Land O’ Lakes High School will honor its softball team’s first-ever state championship win with a pep rally at the school’s football stadium.

The celebration will take place Wednesday, May 24 at 7:30 a.m. A well-timed fire drill will allow the students to head to Benedetto Stadium for the ceremony. Land O’ Lakes Principal Ric Mellin, the school’s staff and students will have the chance to recognize Coach Mitch Wilkins and the softball team.

The Lady Gators won the state championship on Saturday, May 20 with a 3-1 victory over Plantation American Heritage at Dodgertown in Vero Beach. The victory was sweet revenge for Land O’ Lakes, which was knocked out of the state tournament last year in the semifinals by the Patriots.
