Land O' Lakes Pool Set To Open Soon
The public pool is undergoing a $89,000 resurfacing project, delaying the opening until after schools close for the summer.

LAND O’ LAKES, FL — Land O’ Lakes area residents eager to dive into the recreation complex’s pool have to wait another week or so.
The Pasco County public pool won’t open for the season until June 9, the first day of summer for Pasco County public school children.
The pool at the 3032 Collier Parkway complex typically opens on Memorial Day weekend for a preseason swim. That opening didn’t happen this year because inclement weather delayed an $89,909 resurfacing project, the county explained on its website.

At this point, the plan is to have the regular swim season kick off on schedule, running from June 9 to Aug. 14. The pool will also be open weekends Aug. 20 through Sept. 5.
The resurfacing project was called for because “the finish was worn through and breaking apart in areas,” explained Sarah Straub, an aquatic technician for the Pasco County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Department. The last time the pool was resurfaced was in the 1990s.

“We are eager to see these improvements completed so everyone can enjoy swimming in this beautiful pool again,” Straub said.
Once open, admission to the pool will cost $4 a day for adults and $3 for children. Season passes will also be available at $80 for adults and $60 for kids. Family passes for four are $120 with each additional family member costing $30. The pool will be closed on Mondays with the exception of holiday weekends, the county noted.
