Local Girl Headed to World Dragon Boat Championships
A fundraiser has been established to help the Wesley Chapel girl offset her costs.

A John Long Middle School student has her heart set on representing the United States at the World National Dragon Boat Championships in Canada this summer.
To get to Welland, Ontario, however, Kaitlyn Robinson will need a little help from her friends. That’s why supporters of the seventh-grader have established a fundraiser on gofundme.com. The hope is to raise $3,000 to cover some of the expenses associated with the Aug. 19-23 trip.
“Kaitlyn is thrilled about making the team and is saving her allowance to cover her costs,” the fundraiser page states. “Any donation will help her and all donations will go towards the cost of Kaitlyn’s travel to Canada and competing in the races.”
