Oaks Cafe, Papanikos Pizza Cited By Health Inspectors
Live roaches found near cooler, soiled freezer gaskets and rusted shelves are a few of the violations found in Pasco County restaurants.
PASCO COUNTY, FL – Live roaches found near cooler, soiled freezer gaskets and rusted shelves are some of the violations that Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation inspectors found recently in Pasco County restaurants.
O'Brien's Irish Pub & Grill, 5429 Village Market, Wesley Chapel was cited for 28 violations on May 3, including roach activity present as evidenced by live roaches found - one came out of damaged molding behind fish/chicken cooler; 11 dead roaches found on premises; walk-in cooler and walk-in freezer gaskets soiled with slimy/mold-like buildup; and slicer blade soiled with old food debris.
Papanikos Pizza, 14038 Hick Road, Hudson, was cited for 12 violations on May 3, including one fly in kitchen; standing water in bottom of reach-in cooler; and encrusted material on can opener blade.

Oaks Cafe, 8818 Sr 52, Hudson, was cited for 12 violations on May 1, including shelves rusted in vertical cooler in kitchen; in-use wet wiping cloth/towel used under cutting board; and cooked meatballs held at less than 135 degrees Fahrenheit or above.
In the last 30 days, 53 Pasco County restaurants did not pass the first inspection while 58 restaurants aced the first visit.

The inspectors made note of four Pasco County restaurants that passed inspections without any violations in the past months: Royal Ox Food & Catering South, 3939 Land O Lakes Blvd., Land O' Lakes; Gizzy's, 6207 Appomattox Drive, Holiday; Tacos Leon, 37007 Lock St., Dade City; Frankie Lanes, 5727 6 St, Zephyrhills.
