Ollies On The Beach, Beef O'Brady's Cited By Health Inspectors
Soiled ceiling vents and food stored at unsafe temperatures are a few of the violations found at Pasco County restaurants.

PASCO COUNTY, FL – Ceiling vents soiled with food debris, food stored at unsafe temperatures and encrusted material on a can opener blade are some of the violations that Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation inspectors found last week at Pasco County restaurants.
Ollies On The Beach, 6438 Clark St., Hudson, was cited for 17 violations on Jan. 25. Among them were several high-priority violations, including bare-hand contact with ready-to-eat food while the establishment is under a foodborne illness investigation; one live fly buzzing in the kitchen; and raw food stored over cooked food. In the last example, raw shrimp was stored over cooked chicken, and the chicken was moved to a freezer.
Beef O Brady's, 8717 Little Road, New Port Richey, was cited for nine violations on Jan. 24. The inspection report states that the restaurant expanded its seating without getting municipal approval; the number of seats is listed at 100. Other violations included "ceiling tiles/vents soiled with accumulated food debris, grease, dust, or mold-like substance," as well as employees' jackets left on a dry storage shelf and a buildup of soil residue on freezer gaskets.

Susies Too Family Restaurant, 8010 Old County Road 54, New Port Richey, was cited for 20 violations on Jan. 24, but a follow-up inspection on Jan. 25 found that the eatery had corrected all but one violation. Among the violations that were spotted and fixed were employees touching ready-to-eat food with their bare hands; butter cups stored at unsafe high temperatures that were re-served to customers; improperly stored coffee filters; and a cook who prepared food without wearing a required hair net. The only violation noted in the follow-up inspection was a gap at the threshold of a back door that opens to the outside.
Pin Chasers East Pasco, 6816 Gall Blvd., Zephyrhills, was cited for six violations on Jan. 23, but a follow-up inspection the next day found that the restaurant had corrected all of the violations. Among the violations that were spotted and fixed were the storage of cold food, including cooked chicken and sliced cheese, at unsafe temperatures (above 41 degrees), as well as the accumulation of debris inside an ice machine and encrusted material on a can opener blade.

Nickels Diner, 6403 Massachusetts Ave., New Port Richey, was cited for 38 violations on Jan. 18; a follow-up inspection on Jan. 25 found that the restaurant had corrected all but seven violations. Among the violations that were found on Jan. 18 were cold food stored at unsafe temperatures; floors throughout the kitchen and other areas that were soiled or had an accumulation of debris; and a soiled dry cloth used to wipe cooking utensils. The follow-up inspection noted several items that still needed to be addressed, including a cutting board that had to be replaced and rusted shelves under food prep tables.
In the last 30 days, 48 Pasco County restaurants did not pass the first inspection while 45 restaurants aced the first visit.
The inspectors made note of three Pasco County restaurants that passed inspections without any violations in the past three weeks: Dave's Takeout, 34928 Hawkiowa Road, Dade City; Patriots Dogs, 2352 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., Suite 105, Wesley Chapel; and The Barnyard, 14809 Todd Trail, Spring Hill.
