Pasco County Animal Services Offering Free Adoptions

Adoption fees will be waived during kick-off to "Summer of Second Chances."

LAND O’LAKES, FL – The Pasco County Animal Services Department is filled to the brim with animals looking for second chances. To help find good homes for its adoptable pets, PCAS will host a special event this weekend.

The “Summer of Second Chances” kick-off event will take place Saturday, June 4 from noon to 4 p.m. at the PCAS shelter, 19640 Dogpatch Lane in Land O’Lakes. During the event, PCAS will waive adoption fees for all cats as well as dogs more than 25 pounds and older than 8 months.

As part of the celebration, PCAS will also offer $5 rabies vaccines and $15 microchips from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pasco County residents must have a current Pasco County animal license tag or purchase one at the time of the vaccine.

People wishing to help PCAS but are not available to adopt an animal at this time are requested to spread the word about the event.

PCAS has set a goal to save at least 90 percent of the animals admitted in to the shelter.
