Pasco Friday Night High School Football: Decision Announced
Breaking: Hurricane Hermine is blamed for soaking roads and football fields on the west side of the county.

LAND O’ LAKES, FL — Pasco County residents hoping to see those Friday night lights go up on football fields at local high schools are out of luck this week.
The school district announced late Friday morning that Sept. 2 varsity games have been canceled.
“People are flooded out of their homes, and although it may not be bad on the east side of the county, the west side is experiencing significant problems,” Superintendent Kurt Browning said in a Friday statement.

The decision was prompted by weather conditions Friday morning and the presence of flooded areas within the county.
Athletic events called off for Friday may be rescheduled for Saturday or Tuesday, weather permitting, the statement noted.
