Pasco Inmate Accused Of Ordering Hit On Fellow Inmate By Postcard

LAND O'LAKES, FL — An inmate at the Land O' Lakes Detention Center is facing additional charges after jail officials said he sent a postcard ordering a hit on a fellow inmate.

Charles Eugene White, 40, of Zephyrhills, a documented member of a white supremacist gang, was charged Wednesday with attempt to commit first-degree murder, solicitation and conspiracy.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, White sent the postcard through the U.S. Postal Service to gang associate Shaun Yeomans soliciting Yeomans to kill fellow inmate Lionel Florez.

Yeomans, 40, of Weeki Wachi is also incarcerated in the Land O' Lakes Detention Center. He was arrested March 17 on felony charges including uttering a forged bills, criminal use of personal information, dealing in stolen property, grand theft, and possession of heroin and other illegal drugs.

Florez, 21, of Dade City, has been in jail since May 17 on charges of possessing methamphetamine and marijuana, and resisting arrest without violence.

When questioned by detectives, White admitted to sending the postcard with the request for a hit because he said Florez' brother killed his son. He told detectives he would kill Florez himself if they were housed together.

Jail officials provided protection for Florez after the postcard was discovered.

White in jail following his May 3, 2018, arrest on five felony counts including operating a chop shop, grand theft auto and dealing in stolen property.

His arrest record in Pasco County dates back to 2005. He's been arrested 18 times on charges ranging from the felony grand theft to failure to appear in court.
